Roseland Neighborhood Overview
Welcome to Roseland, a historic neighborhood located on Chicago's vibrant South Side. Known for its rich history, diverse community, and strong sense of pride, Roseland offers residents a unique blend of urban amenities and suburban charm.
Travel back to the 1880s within this time capsule of a neighborhood. The Pullman Historic District, a National Historic Landmark District, was built from scratch and was an innovative concept at the time. George Pullman designed the model company town for employees of his railcar factory, complete with its own residences, churches, schools, parks, library, and hospital—all the amenities needed for a "town within a town."
Public Transit
There is a CTA Red Line station at 95th and Dan Ryan. “Red Ahead”, a program to extend the Red Line south to 130th Street, would result in a new station in Roseland at 103rd Street and 111th Street. This project is to begin construction in 2025 and be completed in 2029.
